TWO SHOES THROWN, BUT MAYBE NOT THE LAST

Today, an Iraqi reporter threw both of his shoes at George W. Bush at the very end of a press conference with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. According to reports, the reporter shouted "This is a gift from the Iraqis; this is the farewell kiss, you dog.”

"Throwing a shoe at someone is considered the worst possible insult in Iraq, and is meant to show extreme disrespect and hatred towards someone," stated a report on washingtonpost.com.

INKSPOT•PROJECT PREDICTIONThis isn't the last "farewell kiss" for George W. Bush and this shoe-insult thing becomes a sort of "viral reaction" to him over the years to come.

You heard it here first.

  1. i still think the media is missing the big picture on this one. the fact that this man had enough time in the controlled environment of a press conference/photo op. to charge up toward the president of the united states and fling not one, but two of his shoes. even with having to pause after the first to take the other off. the rough time on this starting from when the male begins making himself known to be moving aggressively toward the president to the time he is knocked to the ground, by another reporter still clutching his notebook and pen in the one hand while impressively pawing the man to the ground with the other by the way, is almost six seconds.

now, maybe the secret service had control over the room to the extent that they knew that shoe throwing was their “worst case scenario,” or maybe that sense of “controlled environment” caused them to relax their guard for a second and the man took a chance at that moment, i don’t know. what i do know is that on january twentieth, two thousand and nine a new president will come into office not only having to be concerned with the leagues of terrorists that we have been breeding over the past eight years that would like nothing more that the cut the head off the proverbial eagle, but also all the extreme racists who would like to do harm just because of the color of his skin. the secret service presidential guards are supposed to be the elite of the elite and they will need to be on their game, shoes or no shoes...
